Press On, Japan

You must have heard about the devastation in Japan.
The last earthquake that shook Japan was in 1923.
And experts say the recent 8.9 Magnitude Earthquake was one that was extremely unexpected.

After hearing and watching and reading the news,
I couldn't help but felt a sense of sadness.
1 for the damage done.
2 for not being to do anything.

Then i read about how America and South Korea both initiated and sent in a large pool of resources, manpower, to aid Japan.

"Republic of Korea was the first nation to provide rescuers. First team consisting of 5 rescuers and 2 rescue dogs arrived in Japan on March 12, and another team of 102 rescuers arrived on March 14. About 100 additional rescuers are on standby and waiting for Japan's permission to be dispatched. Korea also proposed 1,000 personnel if Japan requests it. In addition to human aid, Korea is sending boron to weaken nuclear reactions and power sources for electricity. Many provinces have offered aid as well. Gyeonggi-do offered US$1 million, and raises additional aid."

"United States designated its military response to the earthquake and tsunami as Operation Tomodachi (Japanese for "Friendship").Various branches of the military participated, notably the USS Ronald Reagan carrier group, and aviators based at Yokota Air Base, one of several standing bases. The US Agency for International Development's Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance sent Urban Search and Rescue California Task Force 2 and Virginia Task Force 1, some of whom will work with Canadian SAR in Miyagi Province. US personnel were dispatched to restore the Sendai airport, which sustained extensive damage. The State Department moved its embassy operations, set up contact information systems and issued travel advisories. "

Of Course, Singapore has also sent in a team of rescuers and rescue dogs to help in the recovery operation.
It is just heartwarming to see so many countries coming together extensively to help Japan.
It is especially heartwarming to see New Zealand, who experienced its own Earthquake in Christchurch, sent its own team of rescuers to help in the recovery operation in Japan.

Let us all take a moment to pray for Japan.
