I was reading Peter Lau's blog

when i chanced upon a comment made on his tagboard.

A question was raises:

"How can one deepen a relationship?"

I have never been in a relationship.

So i would not know how is it like to be in one.

Neither would i know the woes of a relationship.

However, i have had witness the ups and downs of many relationships.

I have seen how relationships fail.

I have seen how couples end up getting engaged.

I think for any inter-personal relationship to work,

is to first understand a person.

You have to first know someone before being friends with him/her.

Then the next step will be to accept the person.

His Strengths, his weaknesses.

Only then, if you really like him/her,
then you can decide to go into a relationship.

However maintaining a relationship is no easy task.
Why do i say this?
Im sure you've seen many movies where the wife (most of the times)
choose to focus on her career rather then have children.
Some people feel that career should come first.
And if your partner decides that his/her career/studies come first,
then you would have to suit his/her ways.
But if you insist,
then the both of you must come compromise.

In every relationship,
there are its ups and downs.
However, remember that the 2 most important aspects of a relationship is TRUST and UNDERSTANDING.
